The Art of Living workshop opened my eyes, heart and mind to how much more meaningful and complete our lives can be. In a harmonious environment, it’s easy to say, “I feel peaceful and contented.” However, if nothing goes as planned and there is utter chaos all around, and you still say, “Yes! I am peaceful and happy,” then you have achieved something very special indeed. That is what - The Art of Living is all about. Recently, along with Technowrites team, I have attended the Part I course of Art of Living. SPELL has given me a chance to put my experience on paper.
Technowrites team that included Jaydeep, Sachin, Geeta, Geeta’s mother, Shivanjalee, Sanjay, Bharati, Amit (Bharati’s husband), Girish and Gaurav attended a 6-day, Part I workshop of Art of Living, conducted by Vyakti Vikas Kendra (A unit of Art of Living Foundation). The workshop was sponsored by Technowrites Pvt. Ltd. for Technowrites' employees and their dependants and was conducted at Anand Nilay Complex, Kothrud from Tuesday, 7th November 2006 to Sunday, 12th November 2006 during 6.00 A.M. to 9.00 A.M.
Pallavi Purandare was our trainer and later Anagha Pathak joined her.
In this 6-day workshop, we learnt different types of listening; we were briefly introduced to 7 layers of existence that is body, breath, mind, intellectual, memory, ego, and self, and 4 sources of energy that is food, sleep, breath and knowledge.
All of us experienced the healing power of the breath while performing Pranayama, Ujjai, Vajrasana, Omkara and Bhastrika followed by Sudarshan Kriya. During this workshop we learnt effective and revolutionary techniques, to help us to deal with the day-to-day stresses in our life. We realized that our breath links the body, spirit and mind. In Sudarshan Kriya we learnt unique breathing techniques. It infuses the body with energy and harmonizes natural rhythms of our body, mind and emotions. In Sudarshan Kriya emotions, and past impressions on our mind are released as we breathe in and out.
This workshop helped us in reducing our stress levels, improving our health, increasing peace of mind in our personal and professional lives. Now all us are part of Art of Living family and have learnt how to keep away depression, anxiety and tension.
